I found this amazing Coat at a local thrift shop and just knew it had some history to tell. Upon first inspection it looked like a Calvary Riding Coat, but the insignia on the buttons and other details hinted that it was probably European and with a little research I found the insignia belonged to a select Swedish reserve regiment that was mobilized for active duty during WW2, and permanently stationed in Linkoping in central Sweden. I contacted the Swedish Military historian for this Regiment and have a full reporting on the coat that I will gladly send to anyone interested. Embossing in the lining shows the coat was sewn in 1955 in size 42, very nice tailoring, double-breasted, rear walking slit, rugged wool of excellent quality in a heather gray/moss color, it looks brand new with no signs of wear. Please see measurements to assure a proper fit, measurements are taken with the coat laying flat so you will need to double the chest and waist:
Shoulders: 17" across
Chest (armpit to armpit) 19"
Waist: 16"
Total Length: 48.5"
Rear walking slit: 25.5"
Sleeve: 22.5"
