This Victorian era wool coat is in superb quality condition. It is finely tailored and beautifully lined with a minimum of wear. There are a few fading stains on the lining, a very small hole near the hem in the back, and slight wear along the hemline and sleeve lining. It measures 43 inches from shoulder to hemline.
This coat is definitely tailored to the hourglass figure with a leg of mutton type sleeve, 17 inches across the shoulders, 14 inches across the bust which is padded, and tapering down to a very tiny 12 inches across the waist.
The coat is open in the back from waist to hem and has corded hooks and buttons on the inside hem of the opening. The details on this coat are truly exceptional from the smooth banding both front and back to the properly tapered sleeves with buttons at the wrist.
